Nick Houghton's Road Loco "The Mistress"

Post  sonick45 on Sat 24 Sep 2011, 1:41 pm

Hi,

i've been following your builds with sheer delight as your engines take shape.

As you know i've been quiet on here lately and i've also fallen several kits behind.

I am just about to start ploughing forward again picking my boiler up on Monday which is like Christmas has come early.

For those of you that weren't at Bedford Steam Fair you will be unaware of another project I have been blest with.

She is a Fowler Tiger Tractor built 1920 and although she has been extensively re built she needs a lot of work to get her purring to perfection. http://www.burrellroadloco.co.uk/Build_Diary/The_Tiger.html

While I have been saving for kits i've been working on her so not all is lost.

I have also re designed my build site and will post links to updates directly on this thread.

It wont be long now till those at the front are putting a fire in their boxes..

exciting times..

Nick

That's a really posh website - nice job!

Like the Harlow crane company lifting The Tiger Smile

The crane idea came out of the beer tent about an hour before the photo was taken.

The safety officers were having kittens. The crowd gathered around to see the crane preparing and then the engine turned up.
Considering the engine was in steam it was a little crazy but made for an amazing spectacle.

The website has taken a while but it's reached a stage i'm happy with. Glad you like it.

If you drop the fire I guess it doesn't matter how high you have to drop it Laughing

Good effort, I didn't notice it was in steam, I figured it was just a stunt. Glad you got around the H&S bods Wink

Hey Nick

Website updates look good, particularly the bit about your other toy.

By the way, when did you get a blue S-Max? Razz Razz

Did you collect your boiler by the way?

I will be at the Stotfold Mill event, hope to see you there if your going.

cheers

Brian
