Hi Kev,

I don't think I'm going to be much help here!! The answer is "yes" I filled out V267.. Certificate of newness, but without seeing the form I can't remember what I put!!.. I did enclose a letter from Steve, which probably covered that anyway!!... Which questions are you having trouble with?

Tony

Oh my now I am confused,
on lynns list the form is 627/1 now you have a different form v267
The 627 seems irelevant for us cant work out why its needed.
So do I need v267 instead?
thanks

Hi Kev,
Sorry to muddy the waters!! I have no idea if I filled out 627/1.... I definitely filled out V267, as it was one of the forms that DVLA sent me to fill in!!... I was assuming it was the same form, as I didn't "twig" the digits were in a different order!!... Sorry!!

Tony

Oh yah... Kev,
The man who seemed to know what's needed & who wrote to me from DVLA, was a chap called Steven Ivey, Central Casework Group!!
Might be worth giving him a phone... 01792 783 518.

Tony

Thanks Tony,
I have ordered the 55/4 form from the dvla , will fill that in and go from there .I expect they will then send me the same forms as they sent you and all will be well, fingers crossed.

Have you date when your engine is being set alight?
You must video the occasion, hopefully Lynn might supervise the event, not sure if she is a first
aider but would be handy in the event of you fainting.

Thanks

Hi Kev,

Still kind of making it up as I go, so no actual fire up date as yet, but you can be sure that Lynn will be in attendance when it happens!!! ... believe it or not I've still got quite a few "finishy things" to do yet!!

Best of luck getting your engine registered!!

Tony

If you don't have road insurance on a registered vehicle. The police can cease it. Once registers you need to SORN it or get covered.

Well, well, well!!!............Just been on DVLA website to declare SORN for both engines & it seems they are indeed taxed till 1st February 2016!!!!!! I think they cocked up there, as it was only My intension to register the engines at this stage, I didn't supply any insurance information with My application, nor did I apply for tax disc !!!

Curiouser & curiouser... Said Alice!!!

Tony

Oh my , the treacles getting thicker !
got my v55/4 today , I noticed in Lynns dvla registration post in the manufacturer box agricultural
Is stated do I not put road locomotive or should I stick to agricultural ?
It also states a fee payable how much? And when do I pay I?
is a yearly road tax applicable to our engines? I always thought it was a one off payment to register then no yearly charge or is that me being optimistic.
Thanks

Think it's about 53 squid. Only need dosh for initial paperwork.
Agricultural vehicle is the best way to go as stated. Steam is the fuel and the two nuggets of information gives a yearly taxation of Zero pounds.

When I did mine last autumn the fee was 55 and yes tax disc( well they no longer exist) for a year I did send in insurance details as I wanted it covered against theft and ended up with RTA cover to get it. Still need to get a steam ticket ?
Keep photocopies of everything you send to DVLA in case the mail system lets you down.

Hi All,
It's been a while since I even looked at at My Showman's engine, but I'm still doing odd bits here & there, so :-

Thanks to Steve Trail, I've copied his idea on steering chains mod! (Sorry it's out of focus!)

Here they are on the engine, I'm not sure if the springs are "stiff" enough, but they're the stiffest I could fit in the space available!!

I've splashed out on some King of the Road Lamp! These are home made support brackets attached to them!

And one on the engine!

Front view!

regards,
Tony

Looking good Tony. Watch out when braking. You might tip over with all that extra weight on the front. Twisted Evil
