I couldn't get my lubricator to work reliably so have gone for one of these ratchet type, which not only works well, but looks better too!

Good morning Tony,
What can I say outstanding work as always, loving your showmans now its finished when's the big day when it has a fire in its belly for the first time ????.
Must get back to my showmans been so busy at work lately that I have fallen behind with progress, think I have at least five kits not started as we speak. Keep up the good work and look forward to see pictures of your engine in steam.

Best Regards
Steve Honey (Heavyhaul)

Hi Tony

I was beginning to forget what it looked like!!! Fabulous is the correct description.

If you agree I am willing to travel the 300 or so miles to get Northern Lights dirty for you, I promise you will enjoy it no matter what happens but let's finally light a fire in his belly.

Cheers

Brian

PS: how far is the nearest pub for shake down trials?

Hi All,

I have actually managed to get my engines registered, two "log books" turned up in the post yesterday!!.........So the next question to all you lovely builders out there, is, Where does one get old type scale number plates made up?.. I know there is info on the forum here somewhere, but I can't find it!!

Could this be the year I get an engine "grubby"?????

Tony

I can do that quite quickly for you. If the frost lifts quite well by mid March. Crystal might come out of hibernation.

Re: Tone's Showmans second lot!

Post  Tony King on Wed 04 Feb 2015, 8:47 am

Hi Kev,

Took a bit of time, but actually straight forward, I just filled out the forms as set out somewhere here on the forum by Lynn Robinson & sent them off with duty payable! They then sent back more forms to fill in, one of which has a 17 digit number which they required I stamp on the "off side of the chassis"! So I hammered said digits into both my engines horn plates, I also made up brass plates, hammered the digits into them & fixed on the near side tender sides, then got local garage mechanic to come up here to verify I'd done the numbers as requested & he stamped & signed the form for DVLA. They also required all the invoices for the kits as proof of purchase, plus a photograph of each engine, plus boiler test certificate supplied by STW with your boiler! I also included letters from Steve at STW, confirming the top speed of the engines & that all the parts supplied are new!!............ It was a fair old bundle of paper that went back to them!!!
Anyway I have new registration numbers!(SV64 BZW & SV64 BZU) I rang them to inquire if I'd be getting all My paperwork back, as it wasn't with the V5C forms & they said yes it'd be returned sometime in the next week!!

I wish I'd done this ages ago, as you don't need to have finished the engine to register it!!

Hope this info is of use!!

Tony
