still lots of work to do on this but we are making progress.

wheel rims...

water fillers lids on CNC...

and we have produced a one off to prove out all the laser cuts...

the bowser has gone together perfect but we will be providing wider foot rests to all existing BU4 customers who have bought this kit. necessary to give "foot clearance" Cool

Just in time

Post  Alex-Jan on Thu 18 Nov 2010, 3:09 am

So the bowser is finished just in time for me as we are going to collect 2 Burrells and a bowser this weekend. I look forward to visit you guys tomorrow only thing I don’t like, is the long trip from the Netherlands to Daventry. I’ will start building the Burrell next week, but intend to paint the bowser in one go with the engine.

just a quick note on this.

most of you probably have your bowser kit now. you will notice that the kit does not contain the "extended foot-rest" that was mentioned above. we have not forgotten these but as they really belong to the burrell set of kits we saw no point in packing them in the bowser kit. all future burrels will now be sent out with these and any bowser customers who also have a 4inch burrell WILL be sent one soon.

i would strongly recommend that you do NOT run your burrell/bowser combination with the original foot rest, there is a chance you could hurt yourself Cool

Hi Craig.
As an existing Burrel owner is there any update on when the extended foot rests will be sent out ??

I finished my bowser last weekend. It’s waiting now for finishing the 4”Burrell. The main reason to build the bowser at the same time as the traction engine was to stick the wheel bands to the rims with one cartridge of kit, and also use one tin off POR15, for sealing both, tender and bowser tank. When opened once, these products have a limited pot time.

Hello Colin, all the foot rests are packed and sitting in a pile ready to go out. I know some have gone but the old Modelworks records are sketchy at best and to save people spending time trying to sort out the mess the general idea is to wait until people contact us. i can only assume that this has been applied to this situation.

if you give the office a ring I'm sure one will be sent out straight away Cool

Well as far as I know Steve made 50 copies of your bowser, and as I like your colour scheme, yes it will look very similar to yours, with is a compliment for your design. As you properly know I am also painting my Burrell in maroon so that will look like a twin to Madeline. I am using the pictures I made in Dordtrecht to do the lining. But as with twins there will always be a small difference.
