Just like full size

Post  Atlas on Wed 14 Jul 2010, 2:35 pm

Went to Woodcote Rally last weekend and, for the first time in over 30 rallies managed to compare my 4" Burrell with a full size one on show. I hadn't realised just how close Steve got it. Only tiny differences in detail such as position of clacks on the boiler, shape of the front of the perch bracket, position of the lamp brackets and the rear lip of the walk board. Otherwise, spot on! Lovely to see. Only obvious difference was colour and size!
Burrells built fourteen 7NHP double drive unsprung general purpose engines between 1916 and 1930. I gather there are 7 in preservation. The one I saw was Wiliam the Second built in August 1924 painted in Burrell green.
