First Steaming

Post  Waterways on Sun 20 Jun 2010, 3:45 pm

Had my first steam tonight both water pump and injector worked fine new globe valves sealed first time with no lapping. Have a few minor leaks to sort but have a couple of major leaks on braised joints of clack valve pipes and pump return.
Can you solder these joints or do they need to be braised.
Also need a replacement clack valve body seems to be porous steam started pouring out of a hole when i reached 70 psi.
Great to have it running will be taking it to bedford minature traction rally on saturday (carn't make sunday) static unless i can get it tested.
