2 inch Burrell driving truck kit 3

Post  miller on Sat 13 Mar 2010, 12:15 am

the wood for this kit is already in stock and the rest of the parts were ordered on Friday.

i would guesstimate that this will go out early April.

i don't think so, i don't remember seeing one. Neutral

the kit is the basic side and front panels, water tank and seat.

i'll get a copy of the ISO's up next week.

yes, the water is gravity fed. there is an outlet at the bottom of the tank and a pipe runs under the floor and out through the front cross-member, complete with a tap/valve...

basic kit will look like this. sides, front, back, tank, pipe and seat...

almost done on this now, just attaching the seat retaining parts to the water tanks and after getting the control model together and hooking it up to a 2inch burrell we have decided that the tow hitch/draw bar supplied in kit two is a bit too long, so we are going to be supplying shorter ones for you.

still planing on getting this out tomorrow.

here's a few photos, please note, you will not be able to see the wooden batons on the bottom of the seat once the retaining strips are on the tank.

just about ready to go...

our control models only ever get put together to the point that we can be sure things fit, but at the end of it all we also like to use them to help sell the remaining stock, so someone has to go back, take it all apart and paint it all up properly.

well it looks like im going to be bringing the control model home (no, not on my bicycle) and finishing it off. Shocked

a little project for me (gonna be fun just getting all the muck of the wood) and i'll be posting photos as i go. so now i want to see how your models are coming on so i can get some idea of how it should be looking Cool

Craig

When you take it home grab a extra piece of 10mm copper pipe as the length supplied to go between the tank/seat and shut off valve is too short. The instructions say to fit the tank as close as possible to the center, which I did and the pipe is about 2" too short to reach to the valve

OK, cheers Alan.

if anyone needs any extra copper pipe, let us know. but to be honest i dont think the position of the tank is that important. as close to the centre as the pipe would alow is probably what it means, but i may be wrong. i'll have look when i get to it Cool

Just to clarify my earlier comment. It isn't 10mm pipe! It's 3/8. 10mm is too large but will file/rub down to fit
