4" water bowsercart
Hi Guys,
if this has been asked before then i apologise.
You will already be familiar with Tim's water cart/seat which is a great way of getting around the weight issue on the rear axle and the steering problems this can cause.
I have seen some really inventive solutions to this problem over the years and while i have been following the design of your 2" wagon I have searched for some plans for a 4" water bowser to convert into a sit on trailer. The construction is very much like Tim's, simple but strong.
I think the idea is brilliant as it not only serves as an extra water supply but it pulls the owner taking huge strain off the axles.
It also makes the engine look much better as you don't have the brackets hanging off the back of the tender.
If there was enough interest would you consider running a small batch?
The only reason I ask is the company that supply the plans will only supply the parts in raw unmachined form and i don't have the abilities or machinery to hand to finish.
There is clearly a market for 4" engine owners looking for an easy solution the enginemen at is an off the shelf DIY assembly kit.
What do you think?
Nick

John Rex Model Engineers..
If there is someone on here who fancies making one and modifying it by fitting a seat I would be more than happy to
supply you with the parts and pay you for your time and effort.

That cart would look better with a horse in front of it

Re: 4" water bowser\cart
Hi,
Tim's version of the bowser is much nicer. It's not a great photo but below is a picture of it attached to Tim's Engine.
We will do a batch, as a kit, if enough people want it. Our's will also include the seat. At a guess it'll cost around £750.00 give or take a little.
If we have a sudden rush then it could be my first design project
, fitted in somewhere around my 6" Burrell.
Regards
Dean

Water bowser/seat
Hi Dean,
Can you please put my name down also. Can you include an tow hitch option to attach your wagon if required to haul the kids/coal about if required - can't see from the photo's if this would be in the kit or not.
cheers
Rick

Rick, if my memory serves me well Tim towed his water bowser plus two wagons with Dean on one to a local pub back in the summer at the Bedford show. There is a video on here somewhere of it...
I'm sure they'll not forget. but rightly so best to ask anyway...

Dean,
trusting you design skills!?
what's a reasonable number for you to consider designing and putting into production?
There are 4 at the mo.
Anyone else interested. ??

Re: 4" water bowser\cart
I might be dependent on the price! i am currently on bread and water for a few months as owning/building two engines is bleeding me dry

Add me to the list of potential purchasers, although ideally it would need to be able to be collapsed a bit to get it in the trailer once the engines in etc.
