4.5" Foden SWB lorry
Good Afternoon All,
I see we have a new slot for all Foden lorry builders, just thought I'd find out who's building what and where everybody is, I shall be building the SWB lorry as well as finishing a 2" Burrell, I live on the Isle of Wight but have to work on the mainland 3 to 4 days a week so with all the household chores I have my work cut out.
Lets see where everyone else is.
Ian

FODEN SWB
Good afternoon all
I will be building the SWB Foden. I live in the "Kingdom of Fife" in Scotland, just north of Edinburgh. I have built a couple of small stationary engines from scratch and a couple more from casting kits. I am presently building TINA, a 1" bore x 1.5" stroke with 6" flywheel stationary mill type engine from GLR distributors. I am also part way through building a vertical boiler to power all the engines as so far they have only been run on air. In a previous life I built a "Wildcat" kit car - an E-type jag look alike based on Ford Cortina running gear so hopefully this experience will help me through the Foden build.
Regards
Tom A

SWB FODEN
Hi all
My name is Geoff and I am looking forward to building the SWB Foden. I was a long time customer of MW, building an early 4" Burrell, which is still happily steaming after 3 years, and built some MW 5" locos. I live in Northampton, not far from Daventry. I would have gone for the Burrell road vehicle but having one traction engine it seemed right to own something different.
