Sintered bronze bushes

Post  parador on Tue 17 Jul 2018, 4:52 pm

I am fitting these bushes to the Expansion and Lifting Links and notice that the links have oil holes but no holes in the bronze bushes. Sorry if this is a stupid question but are holes in the bushes needed or does the oil just flow somehow into the bronze bush? I suspect that sintered bronze means porous bronze - so oil holes not needed but just want to check.

Thanks and regards
Martin

Hi Martin,

Yes just as you thought: sintered bronze means oil will flow through, no need for a oil hole, but, when I was asking about same thing at little end of connecting rod, I was told not needed, but if Id wish I could drill a hole into the bushing - I did not, so far.

Cheers

Just make sure the inner surface of the expansion links are nicely polished and draw filled. So the die block does not wear.
