Piston assembly

Post  parador on Wed 18 Oct 2017, 5:44 pm

Some more advice please.

Query really on the piston rod bush-does this need some bearing grade 'locktite ' to keep it retained at the front of the 'stuffing box' or is it simply held in place by the gland packing? I can't see any harm in using some retaining fluid on the piston rod bush but what do you think please?

Regards
Martin

Hi

Just push it in. The stuffing and outer gland will hold it in. Also means it is easier to remove if fettling needed in the future.
