photos from this week.

i spent the first half of the week setting up and machining the roller head stock castings. although they have very few holes in for mounting to the smoke box the weight of them meant the jig had to be quite chunky. i have taken some video of this and will edit it at home and post it later, here is a photo for now...

then they were stood on end for the blast pipe holes...

also got the 6inch foden front wheels finished...

more parts are being made for the electric sentinel...

we have had the calipers in for the lyka, and they are fitted to the control model although they are not in the next kit. next kit will be the springs. these are currently out for heat treatment.

more showmans seat parts...

and road-loco roof supports...

Two months have now gone by since the last kit for the 4" Road Loco, just waiting for the final kit now - kit No.30.
My first kit was received way back in November 2013..........deliveries do seem to have strayed considerably from the reasonable expectation of 1 kit per month..

kit 30 is in production but unfortunately our material supplier sent us the wrong material on one of the parts. the correct material is on the way and the part will go straight on the machine when it gets here.

this weeks photos...

the roller smoke box has been rolled and the good news is it fits onto the head-stock. the full batch can now be ordered...

most of this week has been spent on the showmans final drive castings...

im also working on the very small 2inch burrell crank-shaft bearings...

and i finally finished the beading for the 2inch Burrell, showmans, road-loco and the 4inch Burrell...

other parts this week include brake wheels...

6inch foden smoke-box door centres...

and water valve lever supports...

manual are currently working on water pipes for the 2inch...

first off, good news for the people waiting for the last road-loco kit. it is all packed and ready to go on Monday so you should receive it on Tuesday...

these are the roof mounting brackets. the last part needed due to us getting sent the wrong size bar...

those blank discs from last week are now 6inch foden smoke-box doors...

this is the rear brake mount for the lyka. the brake kit wont be sent out until we have the brake discs mounted to the sample wheels and fully proven. it's worth a mention that these brakes differ from the previous lyka production runs and are one of the improvements made on this batch...

we also have the hand-brake band...

and friction material...

and the springs are nearly done. again these are different to the old lyka.

also have some foden chimneys. not part of any current kit but needed for stock.

hello everyone.

as you can probably see, photo-bucket (the free photo hosting site) has decided to stop hosting photos for free !!!!

the most annoying thing about this is that all the photos we have built up over the years are now not visible Crying or Very sad

they may be a way to right click on the images and few them in a separate window but i haven't tried this yet and although the forum does have the ability to host some images itself the amount of storage space is quite small.

i will have a look at finding a new image host and should have this weeks photos up by the end of the weekend

Hi Craig,

This has happened on another forum I follow and they are using Flickr as an alternative! I've had a look and it works well.

Hopefully see the updates soon!

Best regards,

Greg

I use a site called MEGA.nz.
sign up is free and get 50gb storage free. I save my photos on this site and with 768 photos i have only used 22%.
you can pay a fee monthly for more storage up to 8TB.

each image has a link so its easy to embed into your own web site.
It also has an easy web based file structure so keeping files organised is a sinch.

highly recommended.

thanks for the tips guys and sorry for the delay.

been i bit tied up with a torn Achilles tendon to get on to this but hopefully I've found something that will work

im using imgur and hopefully it will be suitable. i thought i'd start a brand new topic to mark the point where the old images were lost and the new ones start. it will just make things neater for the future.

it will be up very soon.
