Insurance

Post  Chrs777 on Sun 26 Feb 2017, 8:38 pm

Does anyone have there engine insured, either through / house and contents , garage insurance / or broker insurance via a specialist. ?
I'm having difficulty in finding a company to insure with, as my house and contents insurance will only cover a garage / outbuildings to a maximum of 3k .
I've tried other company's over the phone, but they don't even offer a quote if the engine isn't built !!
Any idea's would be appreciated.
I'd rather find a company that will insure my garage contents to cover the engine etc.

Do they insure the engine in kit form before complete ?

I found their Web site and shall give them a call to discuss. Thank you both for the recommendation.

Also with Walker Midgley, yes they will insure while under construction against fire and theft. Have a word with them I've always found them very helpful.

As mentioned very nice people to deal with, they will turn your steam test certificate into a new disc by return of post.

Just a note on Mikero's post. I scan and email the test certificate each year and the NTET disc arrives a couple days later. Means you don't have to risk your documentation to the postie.

Just rang them and it looks like 112, for the insurance over a year.
That's theft, fire, accidental damage plus third party. Also whilst it is in kit form being built. They are sending me a proposal for. I think that's good. .
