Are you using water treatment?

I recommend you do, on the plus side it also helps with seeing the water level :-)

Congrats, I cant see any of the videos from work Sad but when i get home next week i'll be taking a look. Spur me on!

Had a play on a 4.5" foden the other week as my brother in law has bought one, cant wait to get mine into steam! I have all the kits but still a lot in boxes as I've been concentrating on getting my full size back into steam. Thats done now so can go back to the Foden a bit.

I was going to get a plate for birthday back in January but after speaking to 3 different people at dvla who all said no and didn't have a clue they were up to i went for the safe option but it would be worth speaking to Donna Kennitt kits and rebuild at dvla thats who done mine really helpful 01792 782069 hope that helps off for a steam up now

Have you had any problems with your injector? Struggling to get this one to pick up at the minute.

Please can I ask what you sent to the DVLA to road register it? So far we have all the certificates provided by STW, photos of the lorry and the boiler plate. However it does say receipts.. did you send any invoices or anything?

Many thanks

Just rung them and they've told me to send them a letter to the kits and rebuilds address with all my details stating I don't have a VIN number but I do have a boiler number which I could use, is that what you were told to do?

Thanks

To get a current registration they asked for proof of newness for every component, In fact you are allowed a reconditioned engine for a car. if not you will get a Q plate. I completed a newness form that DVLA sent me and every original receipt for each kit in the build was sent to Swansea eventually they all returned home after I got the V5.

Hi

The simplest way is to get STW to write you a letter stating the price of the engine and that you own it 100% (no need to send all the invoices).

If you ask STW, Isabel will also supply you with a letter stating that the material used in the construction was all new (hence a new number).

Regards,

Brian

Insured engine on boiler number and then gave that to dvla and they issued a vin number which I stamped on as for receipts I did what brian said and got isabell to do a letter.
As for injector mine went back to terry who agreed it wouldn't work on his test rig and so is going to mend or replace it just not sure when as I havnt spoke to him myself as boiler inspector took it for me fingers crossed.

Terrys good, he turned a new cone round for my Agri in about 10 days.
Awsome pick up, even at lower pressures, never fails, even surprised my Boiler inspector.

Hi Tim

Sorry but I only just saw this thread, great job in getting your engine running. Does'nt seem that log ago I was towing you around at Banbury. A word of warning, don't drive in shorts, especially as your legs are in a stuck confined space against the back head. A gauge glass going will scar you for life.

Regarding the VIN number I used the boiler number for Blackbeard, it is permanently attached wich satisfied the Preston DVLA office.

Happy steaming
