Tender try cocks

Have people been able to get these to work without leaking?

Or have you just sealed them up?

Hi

My replacements (batch one production run) all had oval holes so would never lap in. I have not got round to making new larger centres yet to make them work. So I am still on the original shabby ones. Or just fill them in.
I use a float to check level.

I think a little silicon is the plan then!

With best wishes

Yes mine do. I drilled them out and made new spouts by putting a thread on the outlet and used old brass five lever lock keys - drilled tapped then heated and bent to shape.

I do use mine all the time when filling up it helps to have them open to release air as the water flows into the back tank - just works for me, not suggesting it's the best way.

Silicone was the answer to mine I thought they would not work but they did but could not stop them leaking. I have a float gauge in the tender to show the water level. This also allows the air to escape when filling.
