Hi Richard.

Use some PTFE tape on the threads or gasket sealant.

Hi Richard,

For a lasting seal (in my experience) you are best using green hermatite sealant directly on to the thread of the grub screw. Otherwise the PTFE tape will blow after a few steams, even when coated with graphite paste.

That's strange. Mine has survived two full rally and road run seasons and testing during first year.

Well you are lucky then as I know of quite a few that have blown.

PTFE tape is old hat these days, I've seen some people wrap so much around the threads you'd think they were bandaging up a partially severed finger.

Loctite 567 thread sealer or similar.

I used Loctite 567 on my 4.5" Foden SWB 3 years ago and its been great, don't be tempted to use one of the lesser spec "Loctites" as remember your working with pressurised steam so the boiling point of the water will be way over 100c in fact at 120 psi you'll have a water temp of 172 dec so be careful steam doesn't take any prisoner's.
