Another BIG thank you from me too, to both Lynn & Brian for allowing me to participate in the steaming of their engines & a road run round Inverness. Both showed incredible patience with careful instruction & finally letting me drive their engines!
Brian finished off the day with a spectacular pull up hill, of..... Lynns Showmans close coupled with a bar, four traction wagons loaded with Me & local children from houses round where Lynn lives & water bowser at the end!! His engine seriously had to work pulling "us lot" up the hill, sparks "a flying" as it got dark! He passed the end of the "road train" going up the hill as He turned round to come back down!!!... All under his own steam.... AMAZING!!!

A great day!!

Regards,
Tony

Hi Kevin

Yes Crystal got her wagons back. She had a quiet word with Blackbeard before going to sleep last night.

They did share her bedroom last night so we are waiting to see if we get little mamods in a few months time!

Oh by the way. Brian had a silly grin on his face most of the weekend.

Blackbeard is running superbly now and ready for the NTET road run this weekend.

Lynn has done a great job on building my waggons and STW a great job in producing such a good engine. check out the performance on this short clip of us returning home from the Pub on Sunday, Blacklbeard was notched back one on the reverser too. We had already done a mile of climbing before a short level section and then turning up into Lynn's estate, this was the last part of the run with Lynn's dad in the trailer (he went in Lynn's on the outward journey, the first time for him too!).

The night before I put Crystal behind Blackbeard out of gear and then all 4 wagons plus my bowser and some passengers and went to the top of the estate, up hill all the way. When I did the U turn at the dead end I was amazed when I looked right and saw my bowser and a wagon still going the other way!!!!!   What a Face  Shocked

Had a great two days steaming north of the border thanks to Lynn, her mum and dad and Tony King who joined us on the Saturday for his first lessons!!!

Saturday evening road train, need to get a LONG VEHICLE sign!!!!!   affraid

Hi

I have another video to sort and upload from my gopro. There is also going to be a build thread for the wagons now that Blackbeard is happy with them.

Here is another one say outside the pub getting ready for the return journey after lunch, Blackbeard is just gently pulling his fire up and Crystal is getting a good oiling!!

I also have a short clip of the road train leaving and heading off up the hill and some on-board footage my wife took of the run posted earlier taken by Lynn in one of the wagons.

So much stuff and still the hardest climb was not fully covered as we were all on-board.
