Hi All

Well progress is being made. Not  a lot to show for 7 hours of activity over 3 days.

Counterweights now fitted. Machined the gaps a couple thou' under and jacked the weights on using the bolts to get a nice snug fit.

The I needed to fettle the keys for the eccentric cams and they are now fitted. Still need to align them once the crank is in place.

This mornings activities

Get the eccentrics squared up with the expansion links and fit the big ends to check alignment and non fouling. Everything is single bolted and just nipped up.

I will need new key steels for the waterpump gear and 3rd gear boss. Due to the original ones being a loose fit on the new crankshaft.

Hi All

Well I do not know how I did it but I forgot to take any more pictures of the crank going back in. Must have been concentrating so much.

Well on to the roof refinishing project. Now that the temperature has got above 5C on a regular basis it is resin time. Hopefully this is the final coat. There is a few little bits of dust in it but I hope it is going to be fine once hardened.

Hi Mark

Due to finances and health. Both lacking. I have not booked any events this year. I was meant to be at Chipping last weekend but cancelled as the engine was not ready and not much change of me getting her ready in time. So for the time being I am keeping her fully dry and just pottering about with jobs when the body allows.

Seat frame serviced and painted.

Universal tow point. Can pull wagons on the normal engine pin or fit the 50mm ball and pin for towing other things.

All towing forces passed straight through to engine taw bracket. So very little strain on the seat or tender edge.

Hi All

Not been out doing much the last few weeks. Today I decided to make a bracket for the diff-locking drive pins so they can be stored without using up most of the toolbox on the belly tank.

Easy to get to but tucked out the way.

Hi All

Sorry for the lack of updates. The health thing getting in the way somewhat.

Managing to potter about with a few little jobs. Thought I would move the second shaft oilers.

Much easier to get to for the injection oiler and removing the lids etc.

Then on to the cannon boxes on the rear axle. Instead of the boxes filling up with water and wasting a lot of oil. I am going with the oil post on the back head with tubes down into the cannon boxes and oil tubes to the axle bearings. Similar to Tim I think. Just waiting for T joints to arrive for final pipe cut and shape. The pots are mounted on my own fabricated brackets.

I will be light steaming the engine in the next 2 weeks for a hot blowdown as it is boiler inspection on the 26th Oct.
