Tony

Its always more fun when there is more than one of you as you found out in September. Go and have a day out and I am sue she would really appreciate it and you could steer while Lynn does the rest or even have another go on the regulator, you know you want to. I think you might be in luck tomorrow as she is having a steam test - any excuse for a play if the weather is OK.

Any sign of a fire in yours yet?

Cheers

Brian

Crystal is heading into hibernation.

Had her final blowdown of 2014. Deep clean and maintenance time.

Hi Tony

It's one of the dogs old blankets Twisted Evil

The main shaft broke last year at Crathes. Funnily it was at the exciter end which has never been belted.

Hi all

Had a nice afternoon out in Crystal's bedroom.

She is getting some tlc. The main Dynamo is now refitted ready for trials at first steam. Now it's on the her rear end. Axial, bushes, gearing, differential and road wheels all being checked and serviced.

Just need to make a washer to space the flywheel out by a couple more milimeters to stop it tinging off the brake shaft.

The damper leaver also got modified with a deeper slot and a more pronounced hook to stop it falling shut on the road.

Hi all.

It must be spring. Crystal has woken up and had a light steam today. She did not want to leave the drive but did enjoy having a fire back in her.

Well it must be spring. Well that's what I have been told.

Crystal wanted to get  in on the steam up act.

This a going to bed shot.

Then she wanted to show off her replacement Dynamo. She is well chuffed with it.

Hi Tony.

Almost. Slight nock from the HP lower slide bar. So will need a slight tweak. Otherwise she ran very well. Couple nuts needing tightened and that's about it.

Ready for Dundee Transport Museum on the 18/19.

Post  Heavyhaul on Sun 05 Apr 2015, 4:51 am

Hi Lynn,

Engine looking great and sounds great too, just putting the finishing touches to my new workshop following our move from Peterborough to Aylesbury, so will be able to get back to working on my Showman's Scenic "Merlin".

I'm hoping to bring my caravan to Pickering this year, so hoping to meet up with you and have a chat.

Kind Regards
Steve Honey (Heavyhaul)

Hi steve

I should be somewhere around the Saunders collection all being well.

Productive couple days. Crystal is happy her oil and locoklean barrels have nice new pump adaptors. Will keep the oil nice and clean and make my life easier dispensing in the hand pumps.
