Cheers for that Ian, haven't seen you on here for ages.hows the build going?
was going to try and pick a hot day so I could do it outside, so the sun warming idea seems like a plan.
all the best

Been busy with other things. But finished the tender other than the waterproofing. Only just made a start on cleaning up the rear rims.

Hi

It is completely up to you how you paint your engine. But I would suggest as per convention and looks better. The perch bracket should be as per engine colour or complete contrast as wheels often are.

I have brushed painted my wheels using craftmaster paint and the finish has been great.

As for the tyres: I put the tyres on "dry" and left them like that for a few months to stretch a little and then fitted using the glueing method suggested by the STW guys. I think by allowing them to sit on the rim for a while gives you that extra 1/2 mm needed to make fitting a touch easier. A word of warning though it's a messy process, wear gloves and overalls or old clothes and prey you don't need to scratch your nose during the whole charade. Oh and have one rag handy for the excess and one to scratch your nose.
