Third gear hub

Post  Kevster on Wed 19 Feb 2014, 1:16 am

Hi everyone,

I cant track down the relevant instruction sheet but I seem to recall I need to attach the third gear hub to the crank with some retainer as well as the keys, so in service it wont budge.

Has my memory served me well?

What have you done with yours please

Thanks

Kev

Hi Kev,
I found that when I put my hub in place it was very tight & I had great difficulty removing it, so I haven't used any liquid locking on mine, but then my engine hasn't moved in anger yet, so others may say I'm wrong to rely on tight fit!!

Regards,
Tony

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the reply, seems I was right about the retainer then, I would imagine the retainer is belt and braces if its a very tight fit in the first place , just keep an eye on when you start running the engine.

When will you be setting fire to your engine?

I think we should all set up a special event for the occasion and please please get someone to video it, im sure you will recover once all that soot, ash ,oil and smoke does its work.

all joking aside though you do have a fantastic looking engine.

thanks

Hi Kev

In a few weeks I am going to sneak up on Tony's engine and sprinkle some of Crystals droppings all over it. As I am planning a visit down with Crystal in tow. She would not like me going without her.

Not a chance!!!!.....Twisted Evil  Joking aside, I'm really looking forward to seeing Lynn, but she'll have to bring a straight jacket & handcuffs & chain me up to the fence... Phew!! I'm quite looking forward to that too!! Shocked
