Presumably Horley near Gatwick in which case Sussex based. Good to see another builder, is it a proper engine or one of those tarty ones??  Laughing Come and say Hi at any of the local rallies, Laughton, Lingfield, Northchapel, Weald and Downland etc.

Cheers Kev.

It's a "tarty one"! Kev (highpressure) we have met at the lingfield show and Dorset hope to see you and his majesty at lingfield again this year.
I'm sure I will have many questions so thank you in advance!

Hello Bryan,
A warm welcome to someone who obviously has impeccable taste!! Very Happy
Enjoy the next three years of shear pleasure & joy... Well most of the time anyway!! The time will go quickly, then the fun really starts!! (this is from someone who hasn't actually steamed their engine yet!!)... But I'm getting there!!
Regards,
Tony

Lets hear it for the showman's!!!!.... That should get a response!!...  Very Happy

Hi to you, from another new, but non "tarty" builder. I am on the fourth kit, but not painting anything yet,  I am sure we shall be crossing many bridges together, with much advice from those "who have gone before".

Mark.

Welcome aboard. I have received a number of kits in one go, being in NZ, and I am just starting to get my head around the first few kits, and making room in the workshop. So keep an eye on my progress as we will probably be following along the build together. I am building a road loco Lord Darby. Very Happy

I am looking forward to start building just need to sort out the garage!
I do have a question: what do you do with the edge of the tryes on the front wheels? Paint or metal?

Paint them, but don't be surprised when you have chips to repair!

The darker the colour on edge of the rims the better Bryan, it helps to hide the touch-up spots and there will inevitably be spots aplenty.
