Gear Guards

Post  simonbos on Fri 20 Dec 2013, 10:41 am

Hi all
Simple question tonight - do the small rivet bolts which hold the gear guard brackets on have the nuts on the outside of the guard? I put the nuts on the inside thinking they looked much neater but I don't think there is enough clearance inside the guard for the nuts and they'll catch on the gear teeth. Also if they are on the outside it will make them easier to adjust to get the guard to fit properly.
Thanks,
Simon

The clearance is pretty slim, I put the nuts on the inside but ground them back by about 30%. Adjustment is mainly by slightly bending the brackets. Even so a slight rubbing is tricky to eliminate, after running in the rubbing if there is any goes anyway.(worn away)
