What a paint job
I thought others might be interested in seeing the amazing paint job on the Fowler roller at the start of my video taken last weekend at the South Cerney steam rally which is only a couple of miles from my office. We are on a narrow boat holiday at the moment so could only go on the Friday when I think there were only 2 miniatures in steam. It looked to be a good rally for miniatures as it had its own ring which was as big as some rallies have as their main ring.

Re: What a paint job
Unless I'm being silly the very start of the video is of a Showmans, which has a pretty good finish on it!! The roller, third in, doesnt look that special??

Re: What a paint job
In fact it is a Road loco owned originally by a chap who did a lot of conversions just after the turn of the century and who did as a result did an ornate job on his road loci's

It is indeed a nice paint job, it was at Astle Park last weekend.
Kev
you are indeed being very silly
we will have to explain the differences to you at Dorset, did you think you had built a showman's engine? See you and Andy down there.

Re: What a paint job
Brian,
I can see now that it is clearly a road loco, it doesnt have all that silly nonsense on the front of it!!! Although to be fair the post says, look at the paint job on the Fowler roller
I might be silly but I could at least work out they were wheels on it!!!! I'm fairly certain I havent built a showmans although we could get into a pointless discussion about President starting life etc etc blah blah.... See you at Dorset, wife is getting fed up with me telling her number of days to go..... only 15 1/2 or there abouts

To be honest you could call a lot of engines with 4 wheels rollers and not be wrong
We are counting down to Onslow Park first, we go from there to Dorset. Will your wife be paying a visit or are you a steam widow?
Brian
PS: It was good to see Andy again yesterday too.

Re: What a paint job
Brian,
She will be showing up on the Friday although is moaning about the drive!!! It will only be a fleeting visit, after 4 days with three hairy arsed blokes in a caravan there is no way she will even open on the door on it, let alone eat and drink!!!
No accounting for taste???
15 1/4 days......
