4" scale single crank compound Burrell with a belly tank

I have just noticed this posting by Dean on the front page of the STW web site. It would be nice to see some photos of what this traction engine will look like but it sounds like an interesting traction engine to build & run.

"Anyone fancy a single crank compound Burrell with a belly tank as our next 4" scale engine if u get in early!"

Hmm..half the motion work, nice flat hornplates, but only a single crank throw, so not as easy to start loaded on a hill... DCC for me...one day

Be interesting to see if it will be a 3 speed like the pictures you have linked to as the Filby and LSM SCC compound engines are both 2 speeds.

A 4" BELLY TANK WOULD BE USEFULL

I THOUGHT A BELLY TANK WOULD HELP STOP WHEELIES, ANOTHER THING COULD BE A SPUD PAN ON THE FRONT AXLE AND A TOOL BOX? PROUD OWNER OF 2ND BATCH 4" SINGLE. TOM.
