Is that chemical blackening or black nickel plate?? The black nickel is harder than chemical black but if you do bacon on the shovel for sarnies it comes off regardless....  Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Stays on the chains though and stops them going rusty with all the fall out from the cylinder drains.

I went for chemical blacking as I thought the chains would be better with that

Child Free Saturday

A rare Saturday morning child free, much as I love them it is nice to savour a few peaceful hours in the workshop. I am still someway from steaming so the only fire I could light was the workshop stove.
This mornings job was some spraying of odds and sods. Including a copy of Tim's crank gear oil guard, which I also made from the left over cladding.
