I know what you mean about being patient Kev, but their has to be a limit on the flow of information/communication from the source, I know people who have these engines but don't go on this forum. I don't know how many engines are now in steam but many will be coming to their first season of rallies and speaking to Brian W when he had the old regulator he mentioned about the lack of enjoyable experience he had (and Brian has been driving engines for year) what about someone who has no experience or someone had a accident etc etc Now that would not be a good advert when the issue had been known about some months ago....what would a car manufacture do!

I agree with your comments Dwain, Andys regulator is letting by but because his engine is so new and tight it didnt cause the sort of problems I was getting towards the end of the season last year, once it has had this years use on it it will be much more of an issue. At least six of us have modified the set up in some way, me, Tim, Colin, Brian W, Brian M or you (or both??) and Mark (chop) so some of us arent making the noises that may speed things up. I am not one to be a pain and currently I am just happy it works better than it did but perhaps more enquiries need to made to find out whats happening.

The new regulator base plates are completed, I'm now progressing half a dozen drilling jigs to enable you to fit them

Got the parts, just considering something

Post  highpressure on Sun 08 Jun 2014, 11:18 am

The reg mods parts have arrived, all looks great and nice and simple to do, should be very effective. Before I fit it I need to ask the opinion of a slight adjustment to the components. I really enjoy letting the engine just tick over at the lowest possible speed to add interest to viewers but I dont want it racing away to much but it is quite difficult to achieve very fine control without filing a very small slight slot at the rear of the base plate where the port first starts to open to give a very fine small opening. Once fitted the plate will be inaccessible so should I do it before it goes in and whats the general concensus of opinions on its effectiveness?

Andy and I plan to do both engines next Saturday so we'll have an outcome shortly after that.

Hi Kevin

How about a small slot in the edge of the puck?

If you do not like turn puck 90degs and slot goes away.

I would be interested to know that too,
Its always nice to see an engine ticking over slowly , hopefully its achievable.

The new mod is now available, we only have a couple of fitting kits currently give us a call to be added to the send it to me list.
that way instead of sending back the fitting kit to us to send on, we can tell you whom to send it onto to speed things up.
I will make some more fitting kits this week.
