Latest organ just finished

Post  highpressure on Fri 21 Sep 2012, 1:41 pm

Just finished a commission by the Stearnes for a small organ to go in the centre of their 3" set of gallopers. They will build a suitable trailer to house and transport it. Runs on 12v and has a remote midi uint to allow control from outside the set up. 30 note scale 24 melody pipes 8 accompaniment and 10 strong bass. Sounds even better in the flesh and the sound carries very well outside.

Next project is now on the table, a self contained trailer mounted unit to go behind a showmans. Initally this one will have all the bells and whisltes to give an idea of a full spec but could be reduced if required. Watch this space!!

Will play on my iPad. Can you watch YouTube through the App, or do you get the same message. It may be a problem with the browser settings.

If you are running IOS 5.1 there were problems with it, sometime this was corrected by turning off and on again ( pressing the off button and the square home button simultaneosly and holding intil the apple logo appears)

Kev

That is superb, what dimensions is it built to for 3" scale? Sound amazing for a small organ.

Is it for this model gallopers by chance?

BTW just tell the rest of them that they need to get on the Apple forum with all this hi-tech ibulls#@t, your video plays fine on my computer. Razz

Yes Brian, thats the gallopers, Whizz is their daughter. It is voiced quite loud, as it uses a 2 stage fan and has a second set of pipes on the bass line which gives a much stronger sound. I am really pleased with this one, the best yet, and as a result I have started making the showmans version in a trailer. Currently made around 68 pipes so far with another 66 to go plus a glock for the front. This will be the "top of the range" version to show all the bits and then it can be reduced to suit smaller budgets and sizes. Hoping it will be playing by the end of November and ready for the next season. ( unless someones buys it first)

I though so, there can't be many 3" scale ones about. I look forward to seeing that one day.

Not sure if you know but Elaine Massey from the Steam Apprentice Club committe has been doing some carving for this model, I was at a committee meeting about the STW Burrell Project in the summer and Elaine was there with a superb Centaur she had done for it, a meerkat - SIMPLESSS.

You are doing a great job with these organs, one day I will manage to meet you for a chat, hoepfully before the next STW open weekend.
