D & S

Just been looking at Julia Old's web site on her 4" Single Burrell Build and one question popped into my mind.

Other than the obvious big bits that are vastly different will you be using parts used on the 4" single when possible?

I would have received my first kit for the Single this month which is making the wait that much harder.
My new engine shed and work shop now lay in wait ....Neutral

Nick,

Wherever possible we would utilise some of the current Burrell parts in the new designs. This won't be done if it is not prototypical and only if the part is the identical or very very simliar.

Dean / Steve,

thanks for your e-mail which i received at work.

i have thought of a couple of questions

Are you including a tender mounted crane or fixing points for one on your scenic model. I know lifting gear was fitted to scenic engines (for building fairground rides) but all those i have seen at the rally's have had this removed. A crane would make a nice option for those who like to spend their rally days sitting in the bear tent as with one fitted i expect driving could be a problem.
Form your description i take it the tender design is the same on all versions. and the roof on the road loco is shorter than the scenic. will the scenic have both main and exciter dynamos fitted, as that is the reason for the extra long boiler? A road loco with short boiler could only have the main dynamo fitted in front of the smokebox.

thanks Jon
i expect i will think of a few more questions over the weekend!
