Hi everyone

Just a small observation, don't know if anyone else had noticed, but a can of beer sits nicely in the ring of bolts on the tank top.

Don't know what the score would be when it comes to drink/driving but a good place to keep one if you don't mind warm beer.

And it didn't fall over when I was running around earlier today there you go £8000 on a mobile beer can holder.!!!

In contrast to hughb spending time underground, I recently had the opportunity of having a trip to the top of one of the towers on the Forth Road Bridge. The top is 156 metres above sea level and the view was terrific. If Dean reads this he may have memories of driving his Lykamobile over it on the John o' Groats to Lands End trip.

All the best

This month we have decided to float the idea of a purchasing any of our kits as a Fully Finished Ready to Steam option.

There has been a number of customers who have expressed an interest in purchasing our engines ready to steam as they have the money but not the time to put one together. They feel that our engines are far far superior to some of the other crudely made completed engines on the market and also offer far better value for money at over £5k less.

Hi all

I've had our waterpump working whilst the engine was in steam a couple of weeks ago.I only had 50psi on the gauge, this was because of leaks on the steamhead, but the pump worked fine. The tender was full when I started and about a quarter left at the end of steaming and running.I didn't have any flex problems like Northburrell suggested might happen, but then I didn't have that much pressure in the boiler. All in all I was quite happy with its performance.

The lathe we have purchased is the very newest in technology with full driven tooling and a 'C' Axis meaning that the majority of turned jobs will no longer need secondary operations on a milling machine.

The machine also comes with the very latest servo barfeeder capable of barfeeding up to 3" diameter bar. This reduces the ...

After a great deal of thought I have made the decision to sell my Likamobile. I feel after completing the John O Groats to Lands End run that i've done what i wanted to do with her.

Included in the sale will be all the extra's added on (the original Lucas lights, the exhaust on the back, the petrol can, the mirror, the Locomobile plates, the dummy water gauge, the still full pyrene fire extinuisger). In addition to this there have been rear lights fitted (also act as brake lights), ...

I have added below a few Jpeg images of how the design is coming along, just to wet your appetite. There's a front shot, a rear shot and one of the tender with the brake assembly attached. Currently the engine is being designed as 'The Showmans' version this is due to the way 3D modelling works. It is easier for us to complete the majority of the Showmans design, duplicate the files and then alter the solids that are appropriate to the Road Loco only. At this stage only the smoke ...

I just received the parts list for the new parts for the mods on the lika engine with all the purchase options. Is it possible to received or purchase the drawings so I can fabricate the parts here in the usa myself to reduce the cost. Thanks Jim t

Parking brake

A word of caution: everyone knows now about the need for a return

spring to let this brake fully off, but is everyone aware this is

because of its very strong self-servo make-up ?

This self-servo action will make it a wonderful brake when facing

forward downhill, but totally untrustworthy vice-versa. I have parked

mine on a gentle slope the 'wrong way round', and been surprised how

easy it is to push it backwards with the brake well on.

2" Wagon

I see on the main website that you plan to produce kits for a 2" wagon

Is this still on the cards and will it follow once the 2" Burrell is complete or have I got to go and build one to my own design?

Obviously, if the 2" wagon was not commenced till after the burrell then we would not be able to ride it around for this season as the 2" is not due to finish till about August or September.
